Air Fryer Jacket Potato

Crispy skin, fluffy center — ready faster than the oven.

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium russet potatoes
  • 12 tbsp olive oil
  • ½1 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tbsp butter (optional)
  • ½1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Sour cream, chives, bacon bits, or any favorite toppings (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and dry the potatoes thoroughly.
  3. Poke holes in each potato with a fork to allow steam to escape.
  4. Rub each potato with olive oil and sprinkle with kosher salt.
  5. Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them for air circulation.
  6. Cook for 35–40 minutes, turning once halfway through, or until the skin is crispy and a skewer inserts easily into the center.
  7. Remove from the air fryer and let cool for a few minutes.
  8. Slice open, fluff the inside with a fork, then top with butter, cheese, sour cream, chives, bacon bits, or your preferred toppings.

Notes

Choose russets for the fluffiest interior and crispest skin. Don’t overcrowd the basket to ensure crunch.
