Air Fryer Korean Fried Chicken

Crispy, sticky, and spicy Korean fried chicken made healthier in the air fryer with a sweet and savory gochujang glaze.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 cup potato starch
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • Rice or slaw for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, season the chicken wings with salt and pepper. Toss with potato starch until well coated.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Place the chicken wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 25–30 minutes or until crispy, turning halfway through.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, gochujang, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger over medium heat. Cook until slightly thickened.
  5. Toss the cooked chicken wings in the sauce until evenly coated.
  6. Serve hot with rice or slaw.

Notes

Use potato starch for the crispiest exterior. Pat wings dry before coating to ensure maximum crunch.
