Grilled Asparagus with Garlic Butter

Bright, buttery spears with a hint of char make a simple side that feels special.

  • Total Time: 17 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound asparagus, trimmed
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat so it’s hot enough to char the asparagus.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and add the minced garlic; cook until fragrant, about 1–2 minutes.
  3. Place the trimmed asparagus on a plate and pour the garlic butter over them, tossing to coat evenly.
  4. Season the asparagus with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Grill the asparagus for about 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally until tender and slightly charred.
  6. Remove from the grill and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

Choose uniform stalks so they cook evenly; thicker stalks need a bit more time. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
