Ingredients

- 1 pound minced beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup Guinness stout
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Brown the minced beef in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions, garlic, carrots, and mushrooms, cooking until softened.
- Stir in the flour and cook for another minute.
- Pour in the Guinness and Worcestershire sauce, cooking until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
- Roll out the puff pastry and line a pie dish.
- Fill with the beef mixture, then cover with another layer of pastry. Cut slits for steam to escape.
- Brush with beaten egg and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For best results, drain excess fat after browning the beef and chill the puff pastry before use.
