Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
- 1/4 cup milk (optional, for creaminess)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned (about 5–7 minutes). Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is soft (3-4 minutes).
- Layer the sliced potatoes on top of the cooked beef in the prepared baking dish, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Sprinkle the cheddar and Parmesan cheese on top. Pour the beef broth (or water) around the edges and optionally drizzle with milk.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Slice potatoes evenly for even cooking. Consider using sharp cheddar for more flavor.
