- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- Zest of 2 lemons
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tablespoons lemon juice (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Add flour, salt, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan.
- To make the glaze, mix powdered sugar with lemon juice until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled brownies.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
Zest before juicing the lemons for maximum flavor. Cool completely before glazing to set the sugar glaze.
