- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil
- Melted butter, sea salt, or herbs for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Pour in the warm water and oil, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly for 1-2 minutes; shape into a round or oval loaf.
- Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet and pat the top smooth; slash the top with a sharp knife.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
- Allow the bread to cool for 5-10 minutes on a wire rack before slicing. Serve warm with butter or dipping oil.
Notes
Measure flour accurately to avoid a dense loaf. Use warm water to help the dough come together easily. Brush with melted butter for a shinier finish.
