Spicy Calabrian Shrimp

Bold, smoky, and just the right amount of heat — a 15-minute dinner that tastes like you spent hours.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 lbs shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 34 tbsp Calabrian chili paste
  • 10 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 tbsp butter, salted
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, extra virgin (plus 1 tbsp for initial sear)
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, finely chopped
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry and season lightly with salt. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Sear shrimp in a single layer for 1–2 minutes per side until pink; remove and set aside.
  3. Reduce heat to medium, add remaining olive oil and 6 tbsp butter. Stir in garlic and cook 30–45 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in Calabrian chili paste and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Return shrimp to skillet, toss to coat in the sauce, and cook for 1–2 more minutes until heated through.
  6. Remove from heat, stir in cilantro, adjust salt, and serve immediately.

Notes

For best texture, use large shrimp and ensure they are very dry before searing.
