Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz Spaghetti (Use whole grain for a healthier option)
- 1 lb Sirloin steak (Sliced thin for quicker cooking)
- 8 oz Mushrooms (Any variety works, such as cremini or button)
- 1 Onion (Diced)
- 2 cups Beef broth (Low sodium recommended)
- 1 cup Milk (Replace with almond milk for a dairy-free option)
- 2 tbsp Olive oil (Can substitute with butter)
- Salt and pepper (To taste, fresh ground for best flavor)
- Parmesan cheese (For serving, optional)
Instructions
- Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add diced onion and sliced mushrooms; sauté until softened, roughly 5-7 minutes.
- Incorporate sliced steak into the skillet, cooking until browned on all sides.
- Season with salt and pepper to enhance the flavors.
- Pour in the beef broth and milk, stirring until well combined.
- Allow to simmer for 5-7 minutes, so the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to combine thoroughly with the creamy sauce.
- Heat through for a couple of minutes to integrate all flavors.
- Serve hot, topped with Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
Slice steak thinly for quicker cooking and a more tender result. For a richer sauce, consider adding a dash of cream or more milk.
