Ingredients
Scale
- 1 Unbaked refrigerated pie crust
- ¾ pound Turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1⅓ cups Fresh asparagus, chopped into ½-inch pieces
- 1 cup Gruyère cheese, freshly shredded
- 5 Large eggs
- 1 cup Whole milk (or half-and-half for a richer base)
- ½ teaspoon Dry mustard
- ¼ teaspoon Garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon White pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven rack in the center and preheat to 400°F (200°C). Gently press your unbaked pie crust into a 9½-inch glass pie pan and crimp the edges. Set aside.
- Cook the turkey bacon until crisp on the stovetop or in an air fryer, let cool slightly, and crumble into generous pieces.
- Chop the fresh asparagus into ½-inch chunks.
- Scatter the crumbled turkey bacon evenly across the bottom of the pie shell.
- Layer the chopped asparagus pieces over the bacon, then distribute the shredded Gruyère cheese in an even layer on top.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, dry mustard, garlic powder, and white pepper until fully combined and slightly frothy.
- Slowly pour the custard mixture over the filling in the pie shell, letting it settle naturally into the gaps.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes to set the pastry edges. Without opening the oven door, reduce the heat to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 35 minutes.
- Remove the quiche from the oven and let it rest on a wire rack for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing into 8 wedges.
- Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Use fresh asparagus for the best flavor and texture; allow the quiche to rest after baking to ensure clean slices.
