  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 8 slices 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Pie crust (Homemade or store-bought)
  • 6 Large eggs
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated (Can substitute Swiss cheese)
  • 1 bunch Asparagus, chopped and dried (Fresh or frozen)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Nutmeg (optional) to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using).
  3. Spread the chopped asparagus evenly in the pie crust.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the asparagus.
  5. Sprinkle the grated Gruyère cheese on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the custard is set and the top is golden.
  7. Let cool slightly before slicing.
  8. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Ensure the eggs are at room temperature for a smoother custard. Use freshly grated Gruyère cheese for the best flavor and melting properties.
