Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 medium Onion, chopped
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 Bell Pepper (any color), diced
- 2 cups Canned Tomatoes, crushed
- 1 can (15 oz.) Canned Beans, drained
- 2 tablespoons Chili Powder
- 1 tablespoon Cumin
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients: Chop the onion, garlic, and bell pepper into small pieces. Drain and rinse the canned beans under cold water.
- Sauté the Vegetables: Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
- Brown the Meat: Add the ground beef to the pot and break it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Combine Ingredients: Add the crushed tomatoes, beans, chili powder, cumin, and salt to the pot. Mix well, ensuring everything is combined.
- Simmer the Chili: Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Notes
Consider letting the chili simmer longer for enhanced flavors. Can be prepared a day ahead for better taste.
