Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups Pretzels (mini twists or squares)
- 1 cup Unsalted butter
- 1 cup Brown sugar
- 1 cup Chocolate chips (semi-sweet recommended)
- 1/2 cup Caramel sauce
- Sea salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Spread the pretzels into an even single layer across the bottom of the pan.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth and glossy. Pour this mixture over the pretzels.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 5 to 7 minutes until bubbly. Remove from the oven, sprinkle the chocolate chips over the caramel, and let them sit for a few minutes to melt. Spread the melted chocolate into a smooth layer.
- Drizzle caramel sauce over the chocolate layer and sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
- Allow the bars to cool completely at room temperature until firm, then lift from the pan and cut into bars.
Notes
Using unsalted butter allows better control over the sweetness of the bars.
