  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 Boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups Halal-certified chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Whisk the flour, onion powder, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper in a shallow bowl.
  2. Coat each chicken thigh in the seasoned flour mixture.
  3. Shake off excess flour so the coating remains thin and even.
  4. Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Arrange the chicken thighs in the hot skillet without overcrowding the pan.
  6. Sear the chicken until deep golden brown on the first side.
  7. Turn the chicken and brown the second side thoroughly.
  8. Remove the chicken from the skillet and place it on a clean plate.
  9. Melt the unsalted butter in the same skillet.
  10. Sauté the diced onion until translucent and fragrant.
  11. Add the minced garlic to the onion.
  12. Cook the garlic for 30 seconds until aromatic.
  13. Pour the chicken broth into the skillet.
  14. Scrape the skillet bottom with a wooden spoon to release the browned fond.
  15. Return the seared chicken thighs to the skillet.
  16. Simmer the chicken gently until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  17. Stir the heavy cream into the skillet.
  18. Simmer the gravy for several minutes until it reaches your preferred consistency.
  19. Rest the chicken in the sauce for five minutes before serving.

Notes

Pat the chicken thighs dry before dredging and avoid overcrowding in the skillet for better browning.
