Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz (225 g) Feta cheese, drained
- 4 oz (115 g) Cream cheese, full-fat recommended
- 1 large clove Garlic, minced (~1 tsp)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Hot honey, honey infused with chili flakes
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Extra virgin olive oil, optional
- Red pepper flakes, to taste (~1/4 teaspoon)
Instructions
- Drain the feta cheese well by patting it dry with paper towels to remove excess brine.
- Peel and mince the garlic finely. Juice a fresh lemon and measure out the honey.
- Place the feta and cream cheese in a food processor. Pulse a few times to break up chunks.
- Blend on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 3 minutes, scraping down the sides once or twice.
- Add the minced garlic and lemon juice to the whipped cheese mixture. Pulse a few times to combine.
- Taste and adjust the lemon or garlic if needed, then scrape the dip into a serving bowl and smooth the top.
- Warm the hot honey slightly to loosen it, then drizzle generously over the dip.
- Sprinkle red pepper flakes over the honey if more heat is desired. Optionally, drizzle extra virgin olive oil on top for a glossy finish.
- Serve immediately or chill for 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
Notes
Make sure to drain the feta well to avoid a watery dip. Use full-fat cream cheese for the best texture.
