Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups Broccoli florets, steamed and chopped
- 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (panko recommended)
- 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, but recommended)
- 1 large Egg
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying (optional, can bake instead)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking.
- Combine ingredients in a large bowl, mixing the broccoli, cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well combined.
- Form small balls from the mixture, ensuring they are packed tightly.
- Fry or bake the balls; if frying, heat oil in a pan and fry until golden brown. If baking, place the balls on a baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes or until golden.
- Cool slightly before serving to allow the cheese to set.
Notes
Steam broccoli until tender but still bright green. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes to blend flavors. For extra crunch, roll in more breadcrumbs. Experiment with spices like chili powder or paprika.
