Easy Cinnamon Sugar Soft Pretzels with Salted Caramel Dip

These soft pretzels meld sweet and salty flavors into a chewy treat, paired with a rich salted caramel dip.

  • Total Time: 75 minutes
  • Yield: 8 pretzels 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ½ cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp Active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 ½ cups Warm water (about 110°F)
  • ⅓ cup Baking soda
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp Cinnamon
  • ½ cup Granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup Heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Sea salt

Instructions

  1. Pour warm water into a large mixing bowl, sprinkle yeast and sugar over it, stir gently, and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour and melted butter to the yeast mixture, stirring until combined, then knead for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Lightly oil a bowl, place the dough inside, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 45 minutes until it has doubled in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425°F and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper while bringing water and baking soda to a rolling boil in a large pot.
  5. Punch down the dough, divide it into 8 pieces, roll each into a 20-inch rope, and twist into classic pretzel shapes.
  6. Boil each pretzel in the baking soda water for 30 seconds, flipping halfway through, then remove with a slotted spoon and place on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes until the pretzels are deep golden brown.
  8. Mix cinnamon and sugar in a shallow bowl, brush warm pretzels with melted butter, and coat generously with the cinnamon sugar.
  9. Melting granulated sugar over medium heat until it turns amber, carefully add heavy cream and butter, stir until smooth, then remove from heat and stir in sea salt. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Ensure water is around 110°F to activate yeast. Knead dough until smooth for the best texture. Don’t skip boiling; it gives pretzels a chewy texture.
