Easy Steak Marinade

A quick and savory marinade that transforms everyday steaks into juicy, flavor-packed dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1.52 lbs steak (sirloin, ribeye, flank, or skirt)
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 12 tsp dried herbs or seasoning blend (oregano, thyme, or steak seasoning)
  • 1 tbsp honey or 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix together minced garlic, soy sauce, and choice of seasonings in a bowl.
  2. Add olive oil and black pepper, then mix well.
  3. Optionally, add honey or brown sugar for sweetness.
  4. Place steak in a zip-top bag or shallow dish, pour marinade over, and seal or cover.
  5. Refrigerate and marinate for at least 30 minutes, ideally a few hours or overnight.
  6. Remove steak from marinade and grill or pan cook to desired doneness.

Notes

Marinate at least 30 minutes for surface flavor; 2–8 hours is ideal for deeper flavor. Pat steak dry before cooking for a better crust.
