Ingredients
Scale
- 1–2 lbs steak (flank, skirt, or ribeye)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
Instructions
- Whisk the marinade: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, black pepper, salt, and dried oregano.
- Add steak: Place steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, turning to coat evenly.
- Chill to marinate: Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 8 hours for more flavor.
- Cook to your liking: Remove the steak from marinade and grill or pan-cook to your desired doneness, using medium-high heat for a nice sear.
- Rest and serve: Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving, and consider pairing with a rich sauce like garlic butter steak parmesan cream sauce for extra indulgence.
Notes
Pat steak dry before cooking to ensure a good sear. Store leftover marinated steak in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
