Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Chicken Breast, sliced
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 2 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
- 4 Pita Breads
- 1 cup Cucumber, diced
- 1 cup Tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 Red Onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup Lettuce, shredded
- 1 cup Tzatziki Sauce
Instructions
- Combine olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Add chicken slices and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the marinated chicken until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
- While the chicken cooks, prepare toppings by dicing cucumbers, chopping tomatoes, slicing red onion, and shredding lettuce.
- Warm the pita breads in a pan or microwave until soft and pliable.
- Place the cooked chicken in the warmed pita, then add the prepared fresh veggies on top. Finish with a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
- Roll up the pita securely, serve, and enjoy your homemade Greek Chicken Gyros!
Notes
Marinate the chicken for longer if possible, ideally overnight, to enhance flavors. Ensure your skillet is hot before adding the chicken; this helps to seal in juices.
