Korean Corn Sausage

Crispy, slightly sweet, and perfect for sharing, Korean Corn Sausage brings street-food fun to your kitchen. Easy to make and great for parties or snacks.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Hot dogs or sausages
  • Cornmeal
  • Flour
  • Baking powder
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Cooking oil (for frying)
  • Sweet and savory sauce (gochujang-based or your favorite)
  • Sesame seeds
  • Green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk and eggs until smooth.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients to form a thick batter that coats a skewer easily.
  4. Insert skewers into the hot dogs or sausages, then dip each into the batter to fully coat.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan to medium-high and fry the battered sausages until golden brown, turning as needed.
  6. Place cooked corn sausages on paper towels or a rack to drain briefly.
  7. Place on a serving plate and drizzle with sweet and savory sauce, then sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top before serving.

Notes

Maintain oil temperature between batches for evenly golden sausages. Reheat in an oven or air fryer to restore crunch.
