Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Beef (thinly sliced, flank steak or sirloin for best results)
- 4 sheets Nori (seaweed, available at most grocery stores or Asian markets)
- 2 cups Sushi rice (short-grain rice is preferred for better stickiness)
- 1 Avocado (sliced, choose ripe avocados for creaminess)
- 1 Cucumber (julienned, adds crunch and freshness)
- Soy sauce (for serving, choose low-sodium varieties if preferred)
- Creamy sauce (to taste, mix mayonnaise with sriracha or favorite dressing)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish, adds texture and visual appeal)
Instructions
- Cook sushi rice according to package instructions. Allow it to cool.
- Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a small border at the top.
- Arrange slices of beef, avocado, and cucumber in a line across the rice.
- Carefully roll the sushi away from you, pressing firmly to keep the filling inside.
- Seal the edge of the nori with a little water.
- Slice the roll into bite-sized pieces.
- Drizzle with creamy sauce and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Serve with soy sauce for dipping.
Notes
Ensure sushi rice is cooled to room temperature to prevent overcooking the nori. Use a sharp knife to slice the rolls to avoid squishing them. Wet your hands when handling sushi rice to prevent sticking.
