Ramen Eggs (Seasoned Eggs)

Ramen eggs are marinated boiled eggs that serve as a delicious topping for ramen, salads, and rice bowls, enhancing the taste of any dish.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes to overnight
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Fresh Large Eggs
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Mirin
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Carefully add the eggs and boil for 6-7 minutes for a soft yolk.
  2. Immediately transfer the eggs to an ice bath to stop cooking for 5-10 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, and sugar until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Peel the eggs gently under running water for easier removal of the shell.
  5. Submerge the peeled eggs in the marinade, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  6. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight in the refrigerator before serving.

Notes

Use a timer during boiling to achieve consistently soft yolks; high-quality soy sauce and mirin are recommended for better flavor.
