Ingredients

  • 1 red bell pepper (seeded and roasted or steamed)
  • 1 medium sweet potato (peeled and cooked)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 medium apple (peeled, cored, and cooked or soft)
  • 1/2 cup cooked lentils (well-cooked and soft)
  • Water, breast milk, or formula to thin as needed
  • A tiny pinch of cinnamon (age-appropriate)

Instructions

  1. Roast or steam the red bell pepper until soft, then remove the skin and seeds.
  2. Cook the sweet potato until tender (bake, steam, or microwave).
  3. Blend the roasted bell pepper, sweet potato, cooked lentils, banana, and apple together until smooth.
  4. Add water or breast milk to thin to desired consistency.
  5. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Notes

For a toddler-friendly platter, pair this puree with simple finger foods or homemade snacks. Freeze in ice cube trays for convenient portions.
