Root Beer Float Brownies

Delightful fusion of rich chocolate brownies and the sweet, fizzy goodness of root beer. A unique dessert experience that will impress your family and friends.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Granulated white sugar
  • 1 cup Light or dark brown sugar, packed tightly
  • 1 cup Melted unsalted butter
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 Large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Root beer, your favorite brand
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Semisweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Whipped cream, for topping
  • 1/4 cup Root beer, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix the melted butter, sugar, and brown sugar until combined, ensuring there are no lumps.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition to create a fluffy and cohesive batter.
  4. Incorporate the vanilla extract and root beer, blending well to incorporate these flavors throughout the mixture.
  5. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt to avoid clumps and ensure even distribution.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  7. Add the chocolate chips gently to keep the batter light and airy while ensuring the chips are evenly dispersed.
  8. Transfer the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly for uniform baking.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares to maintain their shape.
  11. Top with whipped cream and drizzle with additional root beer for an extra burst of flavor.

Notes

Use room temperature eggs for a smoother batter and do not overmix the batter to avoid dense brownies. For an even richer flavor, consider using dark cocoa powder.
