- 1 pound Ground meat (Beef, lamb, or chicken)
- 1 Onion, finely chopped (Sweet or yellow)
- 2 Garlic cloves, minced (Adjust for desired garlic flavor)
- 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon Ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon Paprika (Use smoked for deeper flavor)
- 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper (Adjust to taste)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 package Puff pastry or samosa dough (Pre-made for convenience)
- Oil for frying, as needed (Canola or vegetable oil)
- Dipping sauce, to taste (Yogurt, chutney, or your preference)
Instructions
- Heat some oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the chopped onions until they are translucent.
- Add the minced garlic along with the ground meat, then cook until the meat is browned thoroughly.
- Stir in the cumin, coriander, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Cook for a few more minutes until the spices are well combined with the meat.
- Remove the skillet from heat and allow the meat mixture to cool slightly.
- Roll out the pastry dough on a floured surface and cut it into squares.
- Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each square, then fold over and seal the edges securely.
- Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the sambusas until they are golden brown on all sides.
- Drain the fried sambusas on paper towels and serve them hot alongside your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying. Don’t overfill the sambusas.
