Scale
  • 1 pound Ground meat (Beef, lamb, or chicken)
  • 1 Onion, finely chopped (Sweet or yellow)
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced (Adjust for desired garlic flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika (Use smoked for deeper flavor)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper (Adjust to taste)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 package Puff pastry or samosa dough (Pre-made for convenience)

Instructions

  1. Heat some oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the chopped onions until they are translucent.
  2. Add the minced garlic along with the ground meat, then cook until the meat is browned thoroughly.
  3. Stir in the cumin, coriander, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Cook for a few more minutes until the spices are well combined with the meat.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and allow the meat mixture to cool slightly.
  5. Roll out the pastry dough on a floured surface and cut it into squares.
  6. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each square, then fold over and seal the edges securely.
  7. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the sambusas until they are golden brown on all sides.
  8. Drain the fried sambusas on paper towels and serve them hot alongside your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying. Don’t overfill the sambusas.
