Strawberry Shortcake Trifle

A whimsical, layered dessert combining fluffy cake, juicy strawberries, and creamy whipped cream.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes plus chilling time
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 recipe Fluffy cake (sponge or pound cake) – Store-bought or homemade
  • 4 cups Juicy strawberries, sliced – Fresh strawberries work best
  • 2 cups Creamy whipped cream – Homemade or store-bought
  • Shortcake flavoring – Optional, for added flavor
  • 1/4 cup Sugar (for macerating) – To taste
  • Vanilla extract – Optional, for enhanced flavor

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cake according to the instructions and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Macerate the strawberries by slicing them and mixing with sugar for about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Layer pieces of the cake in a trifle dish, followed by a layer of macerated strawberries and then a layer of whipped cream.
  4. Continue repeating the layers until the dish is filled, finishing with a layer of whipped cream on top.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Garnish with additional strawberries if desired, and serve cold.

Notes

Ensure the cake is completely cooled before layering. Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best taste.
