Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Rolled oats (use gluten-free oats if necessary)
- 2 cups Milk (or non-dairy alternative like almond, soy, or oat milk)
- 1 bean Vanilla bean (or 1 tsp vanilla extract)
- 2 tbsp Chia seeds (optional for added nutrition)
- 1–2 tbsp Sweetener (honey, maple syrup, or agave)
- 1/4 cup Toasted almonds (for crunch)
- Fresh fruit for topping (optional, such as berries, banana, or apples)
Instructions
- Combine ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, milk, chia seeds, and the seeds from the vanilla bean (or add vanilla extract).
- Stir and sit: Stir well and let it sit for about 10 minutes to thicken.
- Add sweetener: If desired, add sweetener and mix again to incorporate.
- Refrigerate: Divide the mixture into jars or containers and refrigerate overnight.
- Prepare for serving: In the morning, give the oats a good stir and add a splash more milk if needed.
- Top and enjoy: Top with toasted almonds and fresh fruit of your choice, then enjoy your nutritious grab-and-go breakfast!
Notes
Use old-fashioned rolled oats for the best texture; instant oats can become too mushy. Experiment with different fresh fruits for variety each morning.
